Calendula is the scientific name for the Marigold flower

Calendula is a popular medicinal herb that has been used as an herbal remedy for many years, most notably for the healing of wounds and is known as a healing herb. When made into an oil or salve, Calendula is used to treat eczema, burns, bruises, cuts and wounds, rashes and other skin problems. It has antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-fungal properties that prevent infections. It speeds the healing of external injuries by increasing the flow of blood to the affected areas, supporting coagulation and scab-formation in sores that resist healing. Calendula is often used in ointments or lotions to assist with skin conditions such as acne, eczema, rashes and sunburn.

How to Detox and Improve Health with Calendula Tea.

As with many natural remedies, there is little scientific evidence to back up the benefits offered by Calendula tea. Despite the lack of evidence for health benefits, many people swear by Calendula tea and enjoy the taste. Flower petals of the Calendula can be used to make tea. Drinking Calendula tea can fight some illnesses and improve overall health, because it has flavonoids that prevent infection and inflammation. Calendula tea is touted as a natural remedy for various ailments, including stomach ulcers and inflammation.

Drink Calendula tea up to three times a day as a body cleanser to detoxify and protect the liver,gallbladder and other organs from long-term damage or failure. Calendula tea is also known for reducing fever and sore throat associated with the common cold or other viral infections. Use Calendula tea to prevent or relieve stomach problems. This herb can relieve gastritis, or inflammation of the stomach lining, as well as stomach ulcers and other digestive problems. Take Calendula tea to relieve conjunctivitis, or "pink eye." The flavonoids that derive from the flowers of the Calendula can clear or prevent symptoms of this eye infection internally. Treat menstrual cramps or menopausal discomfort by drinking Calendula tea. The same flavonoids that reduce pain and inflammation also ease cramping and hot flashes. Repair skin damage and fight aging by drinking Calendula tea. This herb also contains carotenoids, which act as antioxidants that promote healthier skin. To make Calendular Tea just steep 1 teaspoon of Marigold flowers in a cup of boiling water. Cover and leave for fifteen minutes. Remove the exhausted herb and add honey or sugar to taste if desired. Serve the while hot.

Author's Note: I use Calendular Tea daily. Because it takes 15mins to brew, I make up 3 teaspoons in a mug of boiling water each morning, then after at least 15mins, I strain it and pour it into a bottle with an additional two mugs of water and refrigerate. It is fine to drink either hot or cold, so it makes a handy summer drink, or you can just pour out what you want into a mug and lightly microwave to warm through as a hot drink. The taste is similar to ordinary tea without milk or sugar. I have found I prefer it without any sweetener, although you could try honey or stevia yourself.
